Through technique, performance and professional level teaching, the Academy dance department has been helping young people grow through the arts for a quarter century. And it is all done in a non-competitive atmosphere that maximizes every student's unique abilities.
In addition to our studio classes, we also have an auditioned performance opportunity called STAR Troupe. Requiring upper level dance skills in all techniques, this group performs at least eight times a year throughout the Greater K.C. area.
Our dance department also includes Show Steppers, a non-auditioned musical theater troupe for ages 3-18. Each age level rehearses separately, and then combines for monthly performances throughout the Midwest. Classes for younger children include basic music concepts and social development through song and dance. Only one costume is required, and family discounts are available.
