Policies of the
Academy of Performing Arts
FEES
- PAYMENT SCHEDULE. All fees are to be paid in advance by the first session of each month.
- LATE PAYMENT. If payment has not been made by the eighth of the month in which it is due, a 10% late charge will be assessed. Cancellation of enrollment may result if payments are not made on time.
- SPECIAL CONSIDERATION. If a problem arises which makes payment difficult, special consideration can be given by contacting the instructor before the due date.
- DISCOUNTS. Discounts for multiple family members are left to the discretion of each instructor.
SCHEDULING
- LENGTH OF CLASSES. Private lessons are thirty minutes in length. Dance, Show Steppers, and acting classes are fifty-five minutes in length. All classes meet once a week.
- CONFLICTS. Conflicts with lesson times should be worked out between the student and the instructor by calling the instructor at home or by leaving a message with the academy office at 761-7080. Advance notice must be given, whenever possible, of all missed sessions. An inordinate number of absences could result in cancellation of enrollment.
- MAKE-UP LESSONS. Student-initiated cancellation may be made up at the instructor's discretion. If the instructor cancels a class or lesson, that time will be made up or fees will be credited to the next month.
- HOLIDAYS. No sessions will be held on national holidays, and no reduction in fees will be made for such cancellations. Likewise, no reduction in fees will be made for cancellation between Christmas and New Year's Day. Such holiday cancellations are covered by the periodic fifth sessions occurring in some months, for which no additional fee is charged.
- INSTRUCTOR VACATIONS. Instructors of private vocal and piano lessons are allowed two weeks per year for vacation. Lessons missed during these periods will not be charged to the student and do not need to be made up.
- STUDENT VACATIONS. If a student must miss an inordinate number of consecutive sessions, the student may continue to pay the monthly fee in order to remain enrolled, or the the student may cancel enrollment. Upon return, a $20 re-enrollmentfee will be charged, and placement will depend upon availability of openings.
PARKING
- Automobiles may be parked in the east or west parking lots. Parking is prohibited along the road and in the private drive except when the lots are full.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR STUDENTS
- The academy and its staff will be responsible for students only during their respective class times. Parents should deliver and pick up children on time, and should notify the instructor if transportation will be delayed.
AREA RESTRICTIONS

- Students will be held financially responsible for damage to academy property, whether willful or accidental.
