Me and my dog were attacked because someone let their door open allowing to American bulldog's charge at us. They nearly killed her. The owner should not have let her Pitbull outside, that was very irresponsible of her. I don't know what the Pitbull was going to do but I get why the officer panicked.

I hav 2 opinions on this Out of the 3 the cop and the lady are in the wrong, the lady opened the door without bring herself out and was without the leash and the officer overreacted on what was clearly a dog showing signs of lovingness, the poor dog just wanted to mingle with the officer while it paid the price due to these 2 ignorant humans, humans don't deserve dogs

Never assume a wagging tail means a friendly dog… plenty of dog attack videos show dogs wagging their tails throughout the attacks

well, if you cant control your untrained dog dont open the door or put it in a closed room or something, my dogs would be scared of running in the front yard cus theyred be getting booted to the back yard and stay outside all night lmao

Officers are trained to understand human body language, however they should definitely be trained to understand dog body language as well, considering they work with dogs and encounter them a lot

Its a pitbull. They often wag their tails while mauling other dogs or people, much like many other dogs.
If you are unable to control your animal you are at fault if they are shot in a situation like this.

Don't know the dog or those people but after years and years of living with dogs all I can say is that a waging tail doesn't mean a happy dog, dogs can react in different ways with people they don't know, if you know your dog always tries to escape your house as soon as you open the gate of front Door, keep them on a leash or a cage. So Sorry for the family and the poor dog.

This is why I hate polcie officers sometimes and never trust them, they can't be trusted and many proved they can't be trusted so I rather live not trusting the police force than them abuse it
