Remember that this happened just right after Bruce became "Caitlyn" so there was a lot of media attention on him at that time. So yeah, Bruce/Caitlyn would have definitely been a distraction.

I hate this bullshit narrative that says you have to respect someone simply because they’re your parent. Respect goes both ways. Kendall is not a child anymore, and she has been disrespected time and time again by her father. Caitlyn deserves it and more.

One thing people are forgetting is that the whole night was about kendall she didn't want anyone there because it was her night and her did not want it to be ALL about the KARDASHIANS and in the full clip Cait begged to go and Kendall said no everyone is going to be talking about. And she was right
