Inside An Apple Lab That Makes Custom Chips For iPhone And Mac
Apple has designed its own custom chips for iPhones since 2010, kicking off a trend followed by other non-chip giants like Google, Microsoft, Amazon and Tesla. In November, CNBC became the first journalists to film inside an Apple chip lab, where it tests its latest M3 chips that replaced Intel processors in all new Macs. We also got a rare chance to talk with Apple’s head of silicon, Johny Srouji, and Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering, John Ternus, about geopolitical risks in Taiwan, slowdowns and what’s next in AI.

As a Original Founding AMD RED Team Member, I kept asking AMD when they were going to do what Intel did, 2x threads and they did it finally when Lisa Su came in, so technically I am the one who was pushing AMD to do what Lisa Su finally did!~

It'd be even better if they stopped recycling chips by renaming them and turning on cores that are already in them to begin with.. iphone 13, 14, and 15 are almost 100% identical. you get 1 more core but a different name. and I'm sure that core, has already been available, it was just turned off… after seeing the "compare iphones" page on their own site and noticing those 3 phones are 98% identical parts.. I quit using apple.

Watch the senior VP of hardwares body language when asked about Apple and AI… don’t listen to his words, just watch him. I believe he just gave away his doubts while touting the companies line.
