Up until I was nine, I grew up across the street from the fairgrounds. Every year, to compensate for the loud noises, we'd get free tickets. We'd always end the day by getting funnel cake. Also, the first day of it, there's a parade, and it always went by our house. I've been in it a few times for various organizations. I still usually go, mostly for the rides. It's unfortunate that I learned that I'm gluten intolerant. Though, I more associate it with fall than summer, because it's within the first few weeks of September.
