Fans of the Star Wars series are complaining that the Chinese poster for the latest film is racist. CNN talks to media analyst Paul Dergarabedian about it.

Another common problem with people around the world so easy and quick to jump to racism geez people it's just the poster it's not like they took him all the way off the poster it's just a poster he still in the movie he still the main protagonist in the movie come on people stop being so damn politically correct and get over it
If there is any hesitation for white fans about a lead black actor in Star Wars I think it is more of a dislike of the franchise being used to promote an agenda which I hear JJ Abrams is in a habit of doing in his movies. If however the character is not used in the film as a tool for anti discrimination propaganda and truly fits well into the story i think many whites will breath a sigh of relief.
But you guys didn't even talk about Oscar Iassac or Lupita Nyong'o being completely removed from the Chinese poster. Literally every character of color (besides John Boyega) was removed from the Chinese poster. Now I don't really know how the Chinese view other people of color (Yes i consider Asian's people of color as well) But obviously it's not good if they had to shrink a main black character and remove the other POC just get the Chinese market to come in and see the film. smh POC need to stand together not apart but sadly we've all been broken and separated and taught to hate each other.

Everyone knows about Harrison Ford and chicks generally pull in more people…China does not have a fan base for Star Wars like the one in western countries and racism is mostly toward other Asians so calm the fuck down
Being a black male and having lived and traveled throughout China, they are not racist nor discriminatory towards black people. They may say or do somethings that may come across as offensive but have to understand they dont know racism is. Way i dealt with it was not taking it to heart and just briefly explain to them that what they say or do can be offensive and just be a more conscious of it next time. Also; they butcher american movie posters. Why they do this idk but it is quite funny.
