New York, Hong Kong, Mumbai and London generates more trash than rural areas "collectively". In rural areas, the population is very less and so is the consumption.

There are many factors that have to be considered to help keep these rivers and oceans clean, else the volunteers who did clean up those areas were in vain. There continues to be an issue with people/companies dumping waste in the water or pollution on the streets in these different countries. Teaching the locals on recycling along with addressing businesses dumping their waste in the rivers.

Plastics and Styrofoam are petroleum products, why ignore the source, make it biodegradable into say a fertilizer by design. That well fix the problem.

There was a story "crooked turning point".
There was a village, it has crooked turning point.
People used to have often accidents there so some people came together and being building dispensary for people injured.
Then hospital and goes on to graveyards. But no one paid attention towards crooked turning point. It looks like this. I know you are contributing a lot by doing this. But I feel need to change our mind set.

It will never work only 5percent clean. Other countries pollute and do nothing about it, think85 percent or more just pollute. Great try! Keep it going but China doesn't care
