That Singapore crab recipe looks similar with Indonesian "kepiting saus padang" which can be found in many seafood restaurant in the country.

I love crab cakes as much as anyone, but I don’t really get why some recipes use eggs and mayonnaise. Mayo already has eggs in it as a binder, so why would you use eggs in addition to it, when you could just add more mayonnaise instead?
