http://www.FashionTV.com/videos NEW YORK – FashionTV is backstage at Tibi Fall/Winter 2012-2013 during New York Fashion Week, where we’re getting an inside look at the hair and makeup look backstage. Hairstylist Kevin Ryan calls the hair look “effortless cool.” The girl, according to Ryan, is wearing a suit and has a bit of a 60s feel so the hair doesn’t focus on an era. “It’s just got that girl that’s throwing her hair back 5 o’clock, she’s on her way home from work. She’s pullin’ it back.” It’s a loose, messy ponytail with an elastic wrapped and dried with Aveda’s Volumizing Tonic for texture. “In the lineup, if anything looks too pretty, I’m going to use a men’s product Aveda Clay. It gives me a little bit of an oomph and it dirties the hair up.”

Eyebrows are thickened and shaped. According to Kimberly Soane, Director of Artistry for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, the girls have a cool, urban confidence with sexy makeup. “The runway statement piece is the eyebrow,” she says. “You want to choose a color that’s the color of the eyebrow and a tone of your hair and follow the natural shape of your brow.” In short, the look is for runway, not real world.
