Lawrence: Georgia is the indictment that made Donald Trump shut up
MSNBC’S Lawrence O’Donnell details how Donald Trump canceling a press event to push election lies about the 2020 election in Georgia shows he is “terrified” of District Attorney Fani Willis’s indictment. What a great WEASELLY way to TRY (I don't think he can) not to be thrown in jail to await trial! I mean THAT is what would happen to him, if he got up to try driving his mouth through a LIE FEST, like he usually does.
But DO NOT be tempted to think he's turning over a leaf, and is now more amenable to … whatever. Donald Trump DOES NOT DO AMENABLE. Period. He does momentary hot takes, with no self-monitoring involved.
No, it is OUR UNCEASING SCRUTINY AND APPROPRIATE RESPONSES, that have brought him to this point, and IF he is indeed more inclined to take his CRIMINAL prosecution seriously, I wish him luck with that; he'll need it.
But DO NOT go easy on him over this. IF he has a meta-aim to this tweet (sorry, "X," it's a TWEET), then that motivation involves you and me relaxing our pressure on him "since" he is "coming around." I hope you could see the LIE in those quotes, because one thing we know about The Donald: he will NEVER stop. If WE want him stopped, WE have to stop him.

You say "terrified, terrified, terrified." I don't think Trump is terrified. I think he is angry and possibly depressed but he isn't scared and definitely not "terrified". To be "terrified" a person must have intelligence and awareness of a sitiation. DT has neither. He still thinks he's going to come out on top, win the presidency and get "huge" vengence.
And he just may do that. He might just be the next president. Never underestimate the stupidity of the majority of the American people.
