Honestly all of these employees are beyond incompetent and would be fired almost instantly in almost any real workplace. It doesn't sound nice, I know, and unfortunately this is one of those rare settings where niceness matters more than results. Even as far small businesses go, it's pretty awful. Probably owing to the fact that it's in the fashion sector, where vain, egotistical, catty, uneducated yet opinionated people tend to thrive most.
Did finance in a startup and finance in a Fortune 500. Night and day. Unfortunately, most small companies are all about relationships and who likes who, and not who produces results. That's why most small businesses fail honestly.. no protocols, inefficiencies left and right, people getting employed and keeping their jobs because they are likeable. Most of these businesses could do so much better if they tore it (staff) down and rebuild with proper guidance from qualified individuals who have experience fixing bullshit in small companies.
