http://www.FTV.com/videos TOKYO – Yu Amatsu moved to New York in 2004 and worked as a pattern maker before winning the Gen Art International Design Competition two times and starting his own brand of structured pieces, which he showcased at the Mercedes-Benz Tokyo Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2012. The temperature rose with this collection as the theme for the line was “116.600000F.” It was also inspired by bees, particularly Japanese bees which are famed in the region for fighting the Asian hornet by forming a bee ball with a temperature of 116.6 degrees Fahrenheit. Prints in this collection included knits of honeycomb and patterns of darts.
