http://www.FashionTV.com/videos NEW YORK – Elegant and strong, the Reem Acra collection for Fall/Winter 2012-2013 at New York Fashion Week showcased powerful women in their element, but she wanted to promote this concept in a ladylike body con sort of way, unlike Ports 1961 who was more about boxy shape and oversize silhouettes. These silhouettes, were form fitting and tighter, with fabrics that clung to the skin. Leather was a highlight as well as pencil skirts that formed around the legs. Other dresses followed in houndstooth prints, silk materials, and winter trench coats that are nipped at the waist. The gowns at the end of the runway, a Reem Acra signature as she’s known for her beautiful, long dresses, were also sleek and hit against the body, when they weren’t revealing skin in intricate peekaboo cutouts. Even a puffer coat, which is typically an oversize concept, hit close to the body and the peplum that flared out at the bottom was minimal in its effect.
Appearances: Josephine Skriver, Juju Ivanyuk, Ella Kandyba, Yulia Kharlapanova, Sui He, Reem Acra
