OMG, that had to hurt like hell – he instinctively turned his head so the puck caught the side of the helmet. Goalie masks work the best when you take a shot straight on. Having taken a few there it's like like getting slapped with a 2 x 4, the strait on shots not so bad at all.

Back in the day, shots were slower and there wasn’t a curve on the stick so most shots would be low

It's because players didn't cheat and use bs equipment. Bring back the old skates and sticks. You wouldn't be able to lift the puck.

Goalies didnt drop to their knees back in the day. And they didnt shoot as hard with their tree trunks and straight blades.

Ovie's is the heaviest shot I've seen in person, by far. The sound it makes hitting the back wall is terrifying, even from half the rink away. Hofer is lucky he's okay.

Mr. hockey announcer, they didn’t wear helmets for one thing the sticks weren’t curved and the slapshots were slapshots, but they stayed on the ice it doesn’t mean they didn’t get hit in the face but that’s that’s why I don’t know why you don’t know that even the goalies didn’t wear helmets because the puck stayed low. Wow wow wow wow
