In order to get any idea of what is taking place I find it helpful to use a variety of news sources. Most news services have an agenda that they promote since they find it attracts market share. This is true for both right and left wings agendas. My views range the full gamut and include what many would consider conservative but I also believe in some liberal concepts as well. It all depends on the topic. In watching a number of news feeds I unfortunately have to conclude that MSNBC and to a large extent CNN are at the far extreme of promoting left wing views and in many cases carefully select sections of speeches instead of letting viewers see the whole presentation in context allowing viewers to reach their own conclusions. If you limit yourself to these networks you are not getting the reporting of events but being told what to think. Some of the coverage on Fox and other right leaning networks also do the same thing but at least these networks are more likely to present events in context. The BBC is also a useful source. So if you are a thinking person interested in the complex nature of many of the problems this country faces I find it is worthwhile not to limit myself to a single echo chamber. Most of the problems this nation faces are complex and not as simple as many of these networks portray them.
