http://www.FashionTV.com/videos LONDON – If you were expecting the prints and dark colors of Christopher Kane’s Fall 2012 collection, you won’t be getting it here. The popular designer went for a completely different look and feel for Spring 2013 at London Fashion Week, where dresses came in light colors (and a few prints) and the architectural shapes were held together by what Style.com called “plastic wing nuts.” The shapes were still feminine and all the more plasticy, in a unique way that only Christopher Kane can dream of. What to make of that purple Frankenstein tee with Boris Karloff’s face on the front. What to make of that gray bow across the front of Mackenzie Drazan’s chest (the rest was sheer and flesh.) What to make of the folds on some dresses and the curtain prints on others? What to make of the tape, the leather, and the lace? A combination of feminine, sexy, architectural, stylish, urban, and yes, even haunting, Christopher Kane’s work is complicated, but it’s nothing less than quietly spectacular.
