Rick Owens Runway Show – Paris Fashion Week Spring 2012 PFW | FashionTV – FTV

http://www.FTV.com/videos PARIS – When watching a Rick Owens show, one must always read between the lines. There’s always something beneath it all. This time, the designer sent his ladies down in smocks with face pale and hair curled atop their head as if they were quite possibly electrocuted within a fashionable body bag. Owens called them electrocuted martyrs. Models walked through striped beams of lights before getting on the runway. Owens called this a gateway to heaven. In all actuality, models looked like they were a whole other lifeform. FTV is wondering how much of a religious theme runs rampant here, though Owens would probably avoid the question in favor of looks he deems are more provocative than anything else. Still, his idea of a provocative statement is not the norm–miniskirts are forfeited in favor of long mermaid gowns, dresses that looked like sack, some fabric pulled at the breastbone, and patchwork. Sort of like a return to the medieval era where women were covering up and secretly showing off their sexiness in their own secret way. And yeah, Karlie Kloss can make even a smock look sexy.
