http://www.FashionTV.com/videos LONDON – Classy, cool and elegant is what you see at the Daks Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show this year at London Fashion Week. The show was compelling with sophistication, confidence and a new clean debut of womenswear. Designer, Sheila McKain-Waid drew inspiration from a moodboard of 1950’s postcards and the expressionist movement at the time, in particular, paintings from Jasper Johns. Waid created ethereal volumes, used white and buttercream weightless fabrics like chiffon, silk and nylon and delivered a collection full of playful textures and soft femininity. The show opened with transparent neutrals and then closed with black leather. Models walked down the runway in crisp layers, barely-there materials, single breasted coats, broad-leg jumpsuits, sporty vests and overlapping sheer materials. All the tones used were very clean brush stroke tones with polished finishing. Waid mastered a clever, simple and effortless design, once again.
