Elon Musk’s business practices have been heavily scrutinized by the Biden administration over the past few years, which has resulted in numerous legal actions against the tech billionaire and his companies. “They believe they should not be subject to the rules of any country,” says Roger McNamee, Silicon author of ‘Zucked’. That helps to explain, in part, why Musk has thrown his full support this election cycle behind Donald Trump, who’s no fan of government regulation either. Says Vanity Fair’s Molly Jong-Fast “We’re really at the mercy of these tech giants.”
