Pennsylvania governor signs law designed to stop hair discrimination

“For too long, a myopic notion of professionalism and Eurocentric standards of beauty have perpetuated racial inequity and exclusion.”

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and supporters of the CROWN ACT gathered in Philadelphia to sign the bill into law on Tuesday. The law is designed to prevent hair discrimination in the workplace, schools, and places of business in Pennsylvania.
