The fashion week was initiated by the creative team Headz, which envisions Vienna as a fashion capital on an international standard. Vienna Fashion Week is a central location for Austrian and international designers and brands to showcase their work. Organizer Elvira Geyer said there were 60 fashion shows and over 80 designers. Designers and brands that showcased include Magdalena Adriane, Ayo Van Elmar, L.L. by Lera Leshchova, Gottin Des Glucks, Artista, Anelia Peschev, Marcel Ostertag, and Ciccone.
