Ritual of Light and Lace by Georges Hobeika for S/S 26, Paris Haute Couture

Published

on

Witness the evolution of excellence in the spring/summer 2026 haute couture sjow of Georges Hobeika and meet his guests including Deborah Hung, Esha Gupta, Nadine Kaddoura, Marianne Georges, and more! Set beneath the soaring Gothic arches of the American Cathedral in Paris, the Georges Hobeika S/S 2026 couture collection, titled L’Amour, served as a profound meditation on human connection and technical grace. Celebrating over thirty years of artistry, co-creative directors Georges and Jad Hobeika harmonized the house’s Lebanese heritage with Parisian discipline, presenting a collection that felt less like a runway show and more like a spiritual homecoming. The atmosphere was charged with the philosophical essence of love – not merely as a sentiment, but as a transformative force that demands vulnerability and presence. The silhouettes were elongated and precise, favoring sculptural column gowns and meticulously draped bodices that moved with a fluid, internal architecture. This season, the house’s signature embroidery was handled with a new, gossamer finesse; hand-worked crystal applications and metallic threads were used to articulate seams rather than obscure them, a testament to the brand’s commitment to in-house craftsmanship. A restrained palette of whites, nude tones, and pale blush allowed the intricate surface work to take center stage, reflecting a sophisticated balance between Georges’ classic proportions and Jad’s contemporary, cleaner lines. It was a collection that didn’t just showcase clothes, but rather the enduring grace of choosing tenderness over indifference.

Art of the Modern Traveller by Ports 1961, Milan Fashion Week

Published

on

Embark on the next chapter of luxury, joining us at the fall/winter 2026-2027 presentation of Ports 1961 held at Milan Fashion Week! Celebrating a landmark 65th anniversary, Ports 1961 unveiled its newest collection at Milan’s Fondazione Sozzani, transforming the venue into an immersive transit landscape. Under the creative vision of Design Director Francesco Bertolini, the collection honors the house’s founding credo – “breakfast in the Sahara and dinner in New York” – by crafting a complete wardrobe for the woman who navigates shifting climates and roles with instinctive poise. The presentation, graced by the iconic Nadja Auermann, mirrored the rhythmic motion of travel with elongated platforms reminiscent of airport conveyors, setting the stage for a collection defined by clarity, function, and quiet refinement over mere spectacle. The aesthetic journey is anchored in streamlined outerwear and precision-cut tailoring, where sharp, cropped jackets with a marine edge meet fluid, wide-leg trousers and draped dresses. A foundational palette of navy, camel, and ivory is warmed by utilitarian hits of avio, red, and deep russet, while technical blends and fine wools ensure every piece is travel-ready. Poetic details soften the rigorous geometry, such as sculptural knot motifs used as fasteners, linear stick prints inspired by the drawings of Louise Bourgeois, and abstract argyles that echo the work of Sonia Delaunay. From the tactile richness of hammered brooches and degraded pearl embroidery to the lived-in feel of vintage-finished leathers, the collection traces elegance through motion itself, allowing the Ports 1961 woman to move through the world with assertive confidence and a signature sense of ease.

Metropolitan Elegance by Luisa Spagnoli for F/W 26-27, Milan Fashion Week

Published

on

Step into the refined and dynamic world of the Luisa Spagnoli fall/winter 2026–2027 collection, presented during Milan Fashion Week! This season, the brand builds a bright, urban narrative for the woman who navigates the city with unwavering confidence. Inspired by the sharp energy of early 1990s Manhattan, the collection establishes a dialogue between urban architecture and modern femininity. The setting itself evokes the clean, iconic lines of the Seagram Building, providing a backdrop for a wardrobe that favors moderation over excess, relying instead on the precision of the cut and the quality of construction. The show unfolds through three distinct phases: Everyday Wear, Natural Comfort, and Night. The journey begins with sharply defined daywear: short jackets and A-line skirts that echo the architectural aesthetic of the late ’80s and early ’90s. As the narrative progresses, “Natural comfort” introduces a softer contrast, pairing oversized mohair and merino knitwear with structured mini-skirts for a balanced, modern look. The transition into the “Night” segment is seamless; the wardrobe transforms through richer textures like duchess satin, silk, and velvet, allowing silhouettes to become fluid and elongated for the evening. Central to this contemporary vision is the mastery of tailoring. From long coats in classic tweed, herringbone, and Prince of Wales patterns to faux-fur trench coats, every piece emphasizes an enveloping quality. This structured precision is grounded by an urban color palette of chocolate brown, stone grey, and forest green, punctuated by vibrant bursts of mustard, burgundy, and deep purple. Complemented by refined accessories – suede handbags, gold chains, and wool gloves – the collection stands as a testament to a heritage that continues to evolve, proving that true elegance lies in the harmonious balance of material richness and timeless style.
