#21: Cinematic Intimacy & 1940s Silhouettes, Milan Fashion Week F/W 26-27

Published

on

Experience the art of everyday femininity of the fall/winter 2026-2027 collection of Alessandro Dell’Acqua showcased at Milan Fashion Week!

The brand #21 delivered the line rooted in “creative truth” and a beautifully raw, everyday femininity. Inspired by artist Sophie Calle’s famous 1981 photographic series “The Hotel”, where she documented the intimate belongings of hotel guests, and the surreal, innocent vanities of Federico Fellini’s film 8 ½, the runway became a beautifully polished exploration of elegant, cinematic voyeurism.

Stepping away from heavy structures, Dell’Acqua built the collection on a canvas of absolute black, using it as a neutral space to reset the narrative.

The wardrobe effortlessly balanced masculine tailoring with 1940s-inspired feminine silhouettes: think intentionally minimal white men’s shirts paired with cool wool trousers, contrasting against severe little white collars, fluid lace slip-dresses, and striking double black-on-pink brassieres.

It was an exquisite investigation into the simple truths of a woman’s everyday wardrobe, unveiled in its purest form, right down to the season’s standout accessory, the medium-size Cabiria bag.

Step into Elie Saab’s world of cinematic glamour – watch the spring/summer 2027 runway show from Paris Fashion Week on FashionTV!

Inspired by the effortless allure of Hollywood legend Jean Harlow, Elie Saab’s S/S 2027 ready-to-wear collection captures a mood of heightened sensitivity and timeless glamour.

The presentation offers a captivating study in polished imperfection, where liquid gowns, trailing linings, and lace trims skim the body with delicate intimacy, evoking the seductive ease of a woman who wears her heart proudly on her sleeve.

Sensual layering defines the collection’s unapologetically feminine spirit: loose trenches are nonchalantly knotted over cascading sheer skirts, while embellished bralettes pair seamlessly with shimmering net co-ords. Rendered in a tender palette of sage green, powder blue, and blush pink, the “”new boudoir”” comes alive through provocative corsetry, twining rose embroideries, and dramatically draped silks that reveal as much as they conceal.

Accentuated by gold-plated monogrammed butterfly eyewear, sleek crossover mules, and whimsical face art featuring tiny floral dewdrops, Elie Saab S/S 27 delivers a cinematic masterclass in modern romanticism.

Redefine your perspective on future skins – watch Florania on FashionTV!

Presented at Spazio LineaPelle during Milan Fashion Week, Florania’s S/S 2027 collection, “Surfacing”, explores the tension between humanity, nature, and modern dystopia.

Drawing from “eco-Gothic” literature and the image of a storm-tossed Italian lake, founder Flora Rabitti channels the romantic sublime – nature in all its majesty and terror – into experimental, tactile garments that act as new skins. In partnership with LineaPelle Designers Edition and featuring a footwear collaboration with Crocs, the collection translates geological and botanical erosion directly onto textiles.

Airbrushed leathers mimic weathered crusts and sediments, while open-structure knitwear and frayed silks resemble stranded seaweed, ropes, and sea foam. A mineral palette of bone, ash grey, anthracite, and midnight blue is disrupted only by cochineal coral—offering an optimistic, provocative statement on how the clothes we wear can project vital social dialogue faster than words.

Petal cascades, pajama tailoring, and Tuileries magic – experience Christian Dior S/S 27 on FashionTV!

Unveiled amid camphor trees in the Tuileries Garden during Paris Fashion Week, Jonathan Anderson’s spring/summer 2027 collection for Dior offered a luminous, liberated study in lightness and organic asymmetry. Teasing guests with natural wenwan walnuts enclosed in the show invitations, the presentation signaled a quiet shift away from rigid structural tailoring toward soft, bucolic romance and joyful spontaneity.

Deconstructing Christian Dior’s historic 1947 “”Corolle”” silhouette, Anderson introduced whispering chiffon skirts, silk-petal cascades, and hand-embroidered floral motifs that move with the ease of a breeze. Sharp shoulders gave way to lush, pajama-style blazers with dramatically oversized white cuffs, while architectural knit dresses stood alongside delicate Chantilly lace and metallic-embossed trousers.

Accented by mismatched petal earrings, body chains, and heeled flip-flops, Dior S/S 27 captures a deeply personal, effortlessly cool vision of modern Parisian elegance.

MAISON MARGIELA S/S 27 Reimagines the Ordinary | Paris Fashion Week

Structural balconies, warped florals, and raw Parisian grit – enjoy Maison Margiela S/S 27 on FashionTV!

Marking a triumphant return to the official Paris Fashion Week calendar, Maison Margiela unveiled its unisex spring/summer 2027 collection under the visionary creative direction of Glenn Martens. Set against a lush backdrop of floral installations and the raw sound of Hole’s “Violet,” the presentation masterfully explored the tension between “”hard and soft,”” warping familiar wardrobe staples into compelling new subversions of wearable art.

Martens challenged conventional tailoring through clever structural interventions – building firm, balcony-like stiffened panels into jersey tees and trench coats, and crafting jackets with crisp, inward-folding lapels. Goddess-like draping stood alongside 1960s brocade column skirts held together by Margiela’s iconic cotton tape, while laminated vinyl linings and twisted floral motifs echoed the house’s rich history of deconstruction.

Balancing avant-garde subversion with an accessible, real-world sensibility, Margiela S/S 27 proves that quiet conceptual grit remains the ultimate luxury.
