Interesting. This will definitely bring cheaper and more variety. Amazon can do a lot with the acquisition of amc. I’m glad Amazon is buying back amc from china.

This is bullshit this is pure destraction. The fact is that he has over 200 million shares on-loan average cost to borrow over 300% average, there are no shares to locate over 2 years already, there are billions and billions of synthetics. It is prime for a massive short squeeze and they want you to think that it's because Amazon however the shorts have to cover eventually because there are over five million people holding the stock we will not sell until we see our numbers

Amc theater will become another piece of the Democrat Propaganda machine. I'll never watch another movie at amc if Amazon buys them out

Why woujd amzn buy the part of the chain that loses the money … and genius … to buy amc they would have to buy amc… almost 2x that amount in ape. Pay on 5 bln in debt and another 5 billion in liabilities 🤣😂… for the money losing part of the industry that will beg for the content anyway ?? No way

If this is true, it's an interesting move. Amazon, of course, doesn't need to buy AMC to distribute its content in theaters. It bought MGM, so it probably has that expertise in-house already; and to the extent it doesn't, it could always partner with other studios like it did with Warner Bros Discovery for distribution of Creed III and Air internationally. Nevertheless, there might be at least some advantages to acquiring AMC. For example, it would give Amazon control in that part of the entertainment industry's "supply chain", buy it even more expertise regarding theatrical distribution and possibly provide some benefits against competitors. Plus, to the extent that being on the big-screen is a precondition to getting certain projects done and to the extent that theatrical releases drive eyeballs to streaming services, an acquisition might be worth it (unless you're positioned like Netflix, it's difficult making money currently via streaming services).

AI May Not Solve Demographic Decline

Published

on

Martha Gimbel, executive director and cofounder of the Budget Lab at Yale University, says artificial intelligence is unlikely to offset the economic challenges of an aging population, arguing the US is confronting two major transitions at the same time rather than one solving the other. She says AI could improve productivity in some areas, particularly by helping caregivers with physically demanding tasks, but questions whether consumers will embrace automation in roles where human interaction remains essential.
