Imagine if this was a Democrat on trial … the right would lose their friggin sh1t and bend over backwards to "uphold the constitution" and convict. They are such hypocrites and should never hold office again.

Start over conservatives. The GOP has no leaders, no agenda, no ideas.

No. They don't want just political power. They toral supremacy. They want the 1950s and 1960s world that Trump promised he'd bring back, rife with their supremacy. That's what their voters want. That's why none of it makes sense to someone like Joe because he doesn't want that back. But to a lot of this country, they want ultimate power – that's what it was been about since Jan 20, 2009 when Obama got elected, though some of them, most will never say it out loud. They have destroyed this country because that kind of man was supposed to never be elected , in their minds. And as usual, they go about destroying everything in their wake because of that same malignant narcissism that has plagued this country since its birth.

At this point, I think that every victim (injured Capitol Police Officers) and the families of those who died should get together and sue Trump personally in a civil court for their loss and injuries. I'd sue for millions upon millions of dollars for the pain and suffering he caused them.

It's not about money but at the very least if they won, Trump will finally realize that he's not above the law. Furthermore, that seems to be the only thing Trump values…money. So, hit him where it hurts most.

I'd love to see the reaction to people calling for the country to just "move on" a month after 9/11.

  12. @never2yield20

    January 11, 2024 at 3:45 am

LoL, what does the GOP stand for is the crisis ? Its a battle over dim witted GOP voters that show up in a focus group. Trump figured this problem out, just tell em lies and tell them its the truth. Right outta Hitler and Goebbels' playbook. an independent, the founders despised political parties.

  13. @Joy-wg9nd

    January 11, 2024 at 3:45 am

The way they talk about Democrats at this Impeachment Trial, Democrats would have to be insane to switch and Republicans even more insane to stay the party line. The only hope is that Adam Kinzinger, Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney, Ben Sass — you know, any true Republicans that can straighten their party out. If they don't maybe the whole Country is screwed.

This is exactly what I've been saying. They're so afraid of trump's delusional base that they will do anything to placate them. What they don't seem to realize is that time has shown that this strategy is harmful to them.

    January 11, 2024 at 3:45 am

When Liz Cheney, the daughter of the 9/11 planner, WMD liar, and perpetual war instigator is the most rational voice in the gop, God help us all…

The path to political oblivion…. Drug addicts simply want to be happy… They know their drug use is the opposite of that… And yet they must take ever increasing doses of it… Until the end.
I sincerely hope that THIS is the end… I thought it was W… But the gop drug binge will NEVER be over until WE say it's over…

I used to think Republican Senators were cowards for acquiescing to Trump's sedition and corruption… but it's just who they are. They are fascist co-conspirators.

  23. @UnoOnly1

    January 11, 2024 at 3:45 am

GOP is not a party but have become dependent on a White Supremacy Cult. American people will stand against them in 2022Vote.

GQP are in denial on what All Americans have seen with their own eyes.

  25. @daviddadamo2290

    January 11, 2024 at 3:45 am

"This is not the path to power." Sorry Joe, that is only true if you believe in Democracy. Donald Trump certainly does not, and by supporting him, the GOP is throwing in their lot with his authoritarian methods. US Constitution RIP.

  26. @GordonRebel

    January 11, 2024 at 3:45 am

It is what happens when a political party allows the radicals to highjack their party

  27. @aziztaylor7210

    January 11, 2024 at 3:45 am

Since the GOP have lost most significant battles in government lately, they're counting voting not to convict Trump as some kind of defiant victory. Like cutting of your nose to spite your face. Pure blind stupidity.

  30. @denniswinters3096

    January 11, 2024 at 3:45 am

The Republican Party is ideologically bankrupt. That's exactly why the personality cult of Trump has come about. There's nothing else left for them.

  31. @waqaa3085

    January 11, 2024 at 3:45 am

The macabre, twisted truth is — it will be better strategically if republicans acquit because it will brand the party with a scarlet T. That will force the GOP to splinter into at least two factions, probably more. Once divided they will die fighting their own [un]civil war. Trump won't get off, no worry; state jurisdictions will get him. The wheels of justice will grind slowly, but inexorably. He is a dead man walking.
