What a helluva story. Those Seals were warriors. I lead a 21 man Marine Raider team in Vietnam. I always had two Seals with us on two tours, 1971 through all of 72 to going home.

Great on all of those men for never forgetting the man who helped them and found their cause noble. If not for the cause, then at least for their lives. He must have truly cared for each and every one of them.

All these Vietnam videos are basically BS. These veterans ( such as this man ) willingly chose to go to an unwinnable, illegal war. If they say otherwise they are promoting a falsehood. A lot of these people push the image that they could or did win the war, but the "politicians" and the "people back home" lost it. Vietnam was a national American disgrace, tragedy and defeat…and they share in the responsibility of it. The politicians and American people saw that the war was not being won, or was unwinnable. The US never really had the "hearts and minds" of the South Vietnamese people…who they supposedly were fighting for. They don't talk much about the war crimes they committed against the Vietnamese….OR even against their own personnel. Lastly, whether these guys won or lost…the Vietnam war had absolutely NO effect on American freedom, security, safety or way of life. They did NOT sacrifice anything for my…or your freedom. These veterans present themselves as victims and wrongly treated. They are big boys and went to a country to kill or be killed. They shared in the failure. Now they want to be recognized for their "sacrifice" through videos, Honor Flights, endless trips to the Wall in DC or to Vietnam itself. They never grew up and really moved on. They have made themselves an embarrassment to themselves and my generation.

If you watched the documentary (A Bond Unbroken, the Why of Minh), when the Navy SEALs finally found him decades later, he was living in absolute poverty. The reason the SEALs raised money and built him a house in Vietnam is because when they tried to bring him to America, the US State Department refused! For context, this occurred around 2008, and the SEAL veterans were outraged.

He fought and bled in battle alongside Americans, spent years tortured in prison afterward, and our government refused him permission to come to our country. I have all the respect for our troops. They did everything they could for him, they even made him an honorary member of SEAL Team Two because of how important he was to them. But our government shamefully did nothing for interpreters like him.

As heartfelt as this was 40 years later, they left a soldier behind. When the US pulled out of Vietnam they were supposed to take the ones working for the US or else it was death from the North. Many got to escape with the US troops, I’m wondering why he didn’t? He was thrown in prison because of that. They left a man fighting on the US side while they retreated.

    I'm 37.. the terps.

They are left behind . I still have nightmares of not so much Iraq but Afghanistan. We had a 22 year old Afhhani Terp. Saved our lives 10 times over. United States department of State denied our request for refugee visa for him.

    We tried.

Swan predicts Trump’s ‘free & fair elections’ speech announcement

Published

By

President Donald Trump plans to use part of a primetime speech Thursday to discuss new findings about the security of American elections, among other topics — setting up yet another high-profile opportunity for the president to dispute the results of the 2020 election he lost. Speaking in the Oval Office two days ahead of the planned address, Trump affirmed the speech would focus on elections and a “couple of other things.”

Officials said the speech is still being finalized, but Trump was expected to discuss several topics. He’s still deeply mired in his conflict with Iran, with nightly strikes in the country as he seeks a path to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Even as that war appears to be restarting, however, Trump framed the elections portion of his Thursday speech as the centerpiece.
