Nothing counts for Republicans except culture wars. They have nothing to offer that is substantive because if they did, it would go against their belief that rich people are rich people, that powerful senators are powerful senators because they deserve to be and poor workers are poor workers because they deserve to be. As a result, Sen. Rubio has no problem with a $7.25 federal minimum wage ($14,500 a year, one-twelfth of what he gets for bloviating from a plush office paid for by taxpayers, not legislating on behalf of the American people, which Republicans refuse to do) and opposes Bezos because he owns the Washington Post, while not opposing Rupert Murdoch because he owns the NY Post and Fox. That they have convinced so many people that that is what life is about, blaming and hating other people for their own failures, is the saddest and most disastrous characteristic of this current Republican Party.
