Joe blasts Trump’s Canada trade war

After trade negotiations between the U.S. and Canada failed, the U.S. slapped 50% tariffs on $20 billion of Canadian goods early Saturday. Canada is set to retaliate with dollar-for-dollar tariffs going into effect Sept. 8. Joe calls the trade war “stupid” and calls attention to how it will hurt Republicans like Sen. Susan Collins, R-ME, in the upcoming midterm elections.

A recent study conducted by psychologists at UC Irvine found more than a third of Americans say political differences contributed to the end of a relationship. And in a 2025 Pew survey, 56% said they had stopped talking to someone about political news because of something they said.
