‘It’s a cop out’: Jen Psaki slams GOP candidates ‘state should decide’ stance on abortion

Published

on

The topic of abortion took center stage at Wednesday night’s first Republican Primary debate, as candidates clashed over whether the next president should sign a federal abortion ban. While advocating for consensus, Haley acknowledged the complex nature of garnering Senate support; which caused Pence to go after Haley’s answer, calling “consensus the opposite of leadership.” While Tim Scott, who commended SCOTUS decision to return the power back to the states, changed his tune arguing that blue states “shouldn’t have abortions on demand.” Jen Psaki, Symone Sanders, Chris Matthews, and Lanhee Chen join the conversation.

Psaki with psghetti in her head…… told so many lies her brain is now dead…… it is not a cop out. What all of you fail to accept is the fact that abortion was never a Constitutional Right…. The Supreme Court did what it was Constitutionally bound to do…… the federal government does not have the authority to override the Constitution…..Ever. The "right" to abortion, i.e. the murder of children, is a States Rights issue solely for one reason…… to put the blood of the innocent closer to the hands it should be staining….. And that's the Truth.

I think abortion should be legal. any apparent incongruities there can be extirpated with the help of situational ethics

Yes, there should be a federal weigh in on healthcare in general. Anyone reading this and agree, light the torch and pass along.
We need a new US constitutional amendment.
"Congress shall pass no laws impeding the treatment of a patient by their healthcare professional.".
Remove legislation from between patient and doctor/nurse/emts/etc…

(0:18) You are a LIAR Scott! Where is your proof that this is what's happening in those states!? and furthermore, his statement confirms that these far-right republicans are trying to push democracy out and push authoritarianism in, I say, NO WAY! This country does NOT need another wannabe dictator Scott, but if you like that sort of politics, then move to where there is one! I promise, you will miss America. 🗽

    Rights ARE NOT STATE JURISDICTION!!!

One more thing for all you fools that obviously have never read it, according to the 9th Amendment TO the United States Constitution, "rights" do NOT have to be defined anywhere in the Constitution.

  13. @johnnyzeee5215

    December 21, 2023 at 5:44 am

1000 percent support all pro – life Republicans. Democrats are lying to themselves. Their party supports unlimited abortion, at any time, for any reason.

    December 21, 2023 at 5:44 am

If Scott feels that way then the Blue states should stop financially bailing out the red states. We all know red states sucks with not enough of their own money to keep up their infrastructures and education even life expectancy is lower. Vote Blue so all states can look after themselves.

Maybe the path to truly addressing the abortion issue is to put it on the ballot box & see what women in particular really want (they are the ones most affected). What is laughable (or maybe not) is the notion of some of these anti-abortion supporters is that abortion rights folks want to allow abortions to be allowed way up to within 9 months of birth. Give me a break!

If Nikki Haley was a democrat she would electable, as a GOP candidate she won’t scratch the surface. Frankly, it’s a sad state of the Republican Party.
