Is There Congressional Support For Trump’s Temporary US Gas Tax Halt?

Published

on

Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA), Vice Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and a member of the House Judiciary Committee, backs President Trump’s push for a federal gas tax holiday, calling the 18-cent cut “symbolic” but still meaningful for consumers despite previously criticizing a similar proposal under the Biden administration. Issa also says China must be “part of the solution” to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and defends staying the course in the Iran conflict despite rising inflation and gas prices, arguing long-term peace outweighs short-term economic pain. He speaks with Kailey Leinz and Joe Mathieu on the late edition of Bloomberg’s “Balance of Power.”
