The U.S. military said Wednesday that it conducted its 12th night of strikes on Iran as both sides continue to fight over control of the Strait of Hormuz. At a rally in Georgia, President Donald Trump told a crowd the U.S. doesn’t need the Strait of Hormuz due to its energy independence. But Jonathan Lemire fact-checks Trump, saying the strait remains an “absolutely vital waterway” despite efforts to reduce energy sector reliance.
