The whole of Russia is more dangerous than its fragments after the collapse, because the whole of Russia possesses a nuclear weapons system, and the fragments are only components outside the system. It will be more difficult for them to use nuclear weapons outside the system. They are unlikely to be more paranoid than Putin.

I feel Russia is no longer fighting a war of expansion but a war of self preservation. If they lose the war in Ukraine history shows that Russia will undergo a period of strife and fight back against their corrupt, backwards, evil regimes and seek further freedoms.
They were dupped in the 90s they fought for freedom but had an ex KGB agent con his way into power.. and russia looks more like the 1980s than 2020s…

This is what “losing the fight by starting it” looks like: forcing the enemy to innovate entirely new weapons systems and doctrines while refusing to innovate yourself. Russia is still trying to party like its 1959.
When this war is over Ukraine will teach the rest of nato how to tactically deploy unmanned combat systems at sea, in the air and on land.
