‘ERODING our democracy’: Morning Joe reacts to SHOCKING NYT Editorial on Trump’s election meddling
The New York Times editorial board is out with a new series tracking 12 categories of democratic erosion in the United States, highlighting the “worrisome steps” it says President Trump has taken toward undermining American democracy. Measuring on a scale from zero to 10 — with zero representing a strong, though imperfect, democracy and 10 representing a true autocracy — the board has moved one category, “manipulating the law to stay in power,” up to Level 3. The Morning Joe panel breaks down the ominous warnings from the piece as the country heads toward the November midterms and the 2028 election.

Parents are giving up green card fights to get their kids out of immigrant jail: Marshall Project
In 2013, Ana Kikabidze was selected to receive a U.S. green card. When unforeseen circumstances hit she had to move back to her home country. When she came back to the U.S. in May with her children, the family was arrested and sent to the controversial detention center in Dilley, Texas. Great idea! Nothing like a bagel to get a conversation going in a social setting. Dan Goldman is a terrific addition to Congress and he debates like a champion! It is great to see two people intelligently discussing important topics without idiotic conspiracy theories and moronic rhetoric. Jen Psaki is fantastic too.

This is good. No ritzy fundraisers for people like Crow. Affordable gatherings with your 'constituents',as in 'Constitution', as in free and fair elections, as in VOTING RIGHTS ACT NOW. My fifty bucks isn't going to change anything, as long as our elections are owned by corporations and billionaires. My vote will. I'd pay a mandatory $3 on my tax return instead of a voluntary $1. Triple minimum wage while you're at it. Campaign and debate intelligibly for 3 months, not 3 years, on public broadcasting. No social media, no talk shows, no ads, fundraising, rallies, hats, lawn trash. 21 days of VOTE BY MAIL and a national holiday in remembrance of our Constitutional right to representation. 'Ted Cruz doesn't care' is not a campaign platform. So cut the crap, all of you.
