Republicans aren't going to pass that.
They take too much money from the NRA for anything significant to happen.
Most have shown they covet money before the lives of future young Americans who can even survive school because of excessive violence. (John Roberts, do you think gun laws would have saved more kids lives and make adults feel safer to make babies that don't get murdered in a few years rather than overturning Roe v. Wade, to regain the controlling women's bodies AND/OR laws like Texas' abortion/snitch law and law that allow citizens buy guns with more firepower and damaging capabilities then law has and also being able to take it in hotel room at 18?)

Texas has been in the lead for the crime for years, and that was the solution Abbott came up with.
No wonder he chose to fundraise instead of be there to grieve with the parents.
No governor of a state doesn't know when a school shooting happen.

What governor of a state passes laws to make that sort of thing EASIER TO DO?
What kind of governor would lie to Texans, waste resources, and bus asylum seekers, not "illegals" to D.C. and pay for their lunch as well?
What kind of governor would waste resources and do a state ran border check when the federal government ALREADY DOES ONE ANYWAY?
What kind of governor has a failed power grid he won't fixed because he gets paid from it and doesn't care about his taxpayers?
All of those things and much more foolishness from Republican Greg Abbott.
All this after Covid and the misinformation the right spun that killed people or scammed them over ivermectin and monoclonal antibodies over a free vaccine that works.
Smallpox would have killed American troops had we not had our troops vaccinated against it.
Kids who have been in school the last 40 years needed vaccinated to go to school.
The right and uneducated wasted time money and resources telling you it was safe, when the FDA proved that it never worked against Covid.
Representatives of the right and right leaning evangelicals died week after week over the misinformation created by right wing media outlets!
Are Republicans giving them another pass on accountability, when we lost so many Americans from Covid and now when they have taken money for decades that never passed gun laws for lobbying money!
From Sandy Hook to Uvalde, none of it really need to happen if Republicans would have had a spine and told the NRA the lives of future Americans depends on passing guns laws.
How many kids and other Americans did we lose to gun violence perpetuated by mostly white males since 2008 alone? (It's just a statement of fact based on statistics. They just have.)
Let's see the fine print of this legislation to see how much safety we get when is done, but not holding my breathe.

A TRUE gun legislative bill would repeal the outdated 2nd amendment and eliminate the disastrous Heller ruling.
Then you go from there to ban guns the size of your arm from civilian use and maybe even push for a smart gun policy to be in effect where the simple handgun can't be used unless the rightful owner is using it…after weeks of training, classes, and mental/gun safety tests twice a year.

The legislation will mean nothing if it isn’t truly supported both financially and by the judicial system. There are already laws that aren’t enforced, more won’t change anything if it continues to be just a party line issue. I understand why the republicans are afraid that democrats will use any legislation to work toward removing all guns, it’s a legitimate concern, just like the republicans are using legislation to regulate abortion now to restrict all woman’s reproductive rights. Same playbook different party. I wish libertarians could push out these controlling parties.
