   I feel bad for the victims, but I feel bad for this kid too. His parents gave him a gun but they didn't give him love. It's not surprising that this happened.

   It’s been 2 years and I still can’t believe this kid was at my school and ruined the lives of fellow classmates. It’s such a shame. Really glad to hear he is going to prison for life 👍

   I do not wish to diminish the severity of the crime and the pain of the victims' families, but I disagree with sentencing any minor to life without parole, regardless of the circumstances.

    My condolences to the families. This tragic event is just a reminder, that no one will live forever. Jesus is coming back! Please repent daily and seek God, so that when he comes back, he will take you with Him. If you are doing the following you will be left here for the tribulation: cursing, fornicating, drugs, alcohol, adultery, lying, bullying, inciting riots or trouble, homosexuality, murder, stealing, envying, coveting other goods + mates+ property, making false prophecies like psychics, practicing witchcraft or identify as a witch or warlock. If you vandalize, terrorize others just because, attack, and or kill innocent people…these attributes without true repentance will get you a one-way ticket to a hot, dry, tormenting place for eternity. Please heed this warning, seek a pastor, ask for help to turn your life around, treat everyone with respect, and help those you can help. The tribulation is a forced mark of the beast on your body, it is not a tattoo, it is a death sentence to hell.

    Of course, it's a tragic and sad event. One that didn't need to happen. I have to say that whenever I watch these sentences. I just can't wrap my head around never having anything to look forward to again, Never driving a car or Going Out for dinner or Having christmas or even being able to go for a walk

    What punishment do his parent's get for buying him that weapon? They knew he had issue's and were negligent..They owe a debt to society as well..and to the one's maimed and now gone..

    What happened in this kids life that ended up with this situation. Was this a bullying situation and the kid decided to get even…domestic abuse or has he a history of sociopathy?

    Schools really need to step up and be aware of whats going on with the kids…teach children ways to deal with conflict, feelings of rejection or inadequacy and that much of what they are going through may be quite normal.
    They should also have safe places to eat lunch, hang out, safe passages to and from school and adults they feel comfortable discussing issues with.
    As a society we need to step up too…
    Some kids dont have close or healthy relationships with parents or parents are always working or distracted… and that child really need that mentoring.
    It only takes one kind adult to believe in a child to turn their lives around or build self esteem….
    Be it a teacher, coach, camp counselor, employer, store clerk, pastor, aunt, uncle. neighbor….be one of those people in a child or teens life.

    So tragic for all the families who lost loved ones, but hopefully this brings them some justice. I also feel sadness for the shooter. Yes, I do. By all accounts, this is a kid who was crying out for help to his parents, and they failed him in every way possible. They should be convicted as well. That boy did not wake up one day and decide to commit such an atrocity. This was years in the making, and the people who should’ve helped him didn’t. It’s a tragedy all too common in our country. It’s beyond heartbreaking.

    I feel deeply bad for the victims, and hope god grant them peace in their hearts and a lot of patience.
    I also feel angry and Devastated about the negligence and carelessness of the parents of the the boy ( the shooter) !
    I personally think they should be in jail and the boy should be admitted to Restricted Mental institution in order to recover even being kept indoors. It's for his Mental health . We all agree He is Human after all.

    Not to mitigate his crimes but teens do NOT have adult brains and should NOT be sentenced to life in prison. This kid needs long term confinement in a mental hospital and not jail with adults. He should not be free but this punishment does not fit his developmental stage in life. We must stop treating kids as adults in this country. He was failed by his parents and now by the state. I feel for the victims but our society is too focused on revenge instead of rehabilitation. Just my thoughts. So sad all around.

    i can’t help but wonder why he did this to HIMSELF..
    he had been watching mass school shootings on social media for years, so he knew that he would either be killed at the scene or executed or spend the rest of his life in prison. he knew the pain that it would cause for everyone ….both the victim’s families and his own family…..but still he went forward .
    what did he see himself accomplishing by doing this ?…..what do any of the young mass shooters see themselves accomplishing ?
    well….he will have plenty of time to think about it…

    imho, life without parole is far worse than the death penalty. death row is solitary confinement . this 17 year old could end up in general population ….and he already knows that he is not leaving …ever….

    what does HE feel like he accomplished at this point? his fate is set so he can be honest with us now at some point .

    Let's not talk about Jesus, since people shut down with that talk. Let's instead recognize the great yet unfortunate successes that were had in a person that, yes, had free will, but thanks to Satan and his demons reached the ultimate goal in twisting a person's mind not unlike what is done with DUI's but at far greater magnitudes damage-wise. Wonderful people were killed and their loved ones destroyed, people's minds injured with PTSD and fear and hate fueled. The goal of the evil was and is destruction. The evil succeeded after carefully planting and nurturing cursed seeds in weak unhealthy lives, from parents to child to child actions carrying out terrible physical acts where the ultimate goal is spiritual destruction following closely after physical. Think deeper than the surface of all this, deeper than say, gun control. Think instead about why minds are allowed to get weak and unhealthy and get compromised such that they can be manipulated as was done in this story. We become what we consume–drunk from alcohol, high on drugs, twisted from suffering abuses imposed by family or peers or those in our environment. Abuses and the associated pain twist us into more abuses and pain. We learn bad patterns and we unwittingly pass the crap on to our kids and grandkids. People, detect and put neglect and abuses to a stop! Replace hurt and pain with the meeting of basic human needs! We need a real live formal government program that really functions better and more proactively than any pre-existing one currently does. But also all of us must be unselfish enough to love, detect, and address the seeds taking root early on.

    This is the united states in a nutshell you lock 🔐 up kids and teens under the age of 18 and pretend everything is rosy. This knee jerk reaction is comparable to peeing your pants 👖 to keep warm it feels for a short while , but then you realize that you haven't solved anything because locking up children and throwing away the key has no effect at all other than shoving the bigger problems like mental health issues , children being severely bullied , and gun control under the rug. Most civil countries seem to understand that but not the US it baffles me.

    Judge Kwame when he got promoted to be judge in the state of Michigan " I'm so proud being the first black judge black black bla" You know Mr Kwame being a judge is not a popularity contest. This sentence shows that this judge thinks he is in a popularity contest to be ad tough on crime as possible. Throwing the book on a 15 year old. This is what happens when you have a black judge who is full complexes playing God.

    I hope life means life in this case because therapy or not..if given the opportunity he would kill again. But I truly wish his parents could be in prison also. They willfully chose to ignore signs and Ethan's own pleas to them about his mental health. The school contacted them about a violent drawing and his feelings of hopelessness about getting better and about how his parents have ignored his cries for help. They were summoned to the school either that morning or the day before I think. And all both of them could think about was how soon they could leave to get back to work. They bought the gun for him. Didn't even disclose to the school that they had done that either. They facilitated this act thru their own ignorance and unwillingness to admit that their son had some psychological problems. How stupid & irresponsible can you get. Ethan is broken and no he can't be fixed. Too late for that. But his parents are no better and should have to answer for the role they played in this whole tragic tale.
    My deepest sympathies to those families who lost their kids so needlessly and senselessly.

    Praying for the families of everyone involved and affected and praying for him, who committed the crime. If he was fostered in a much better environment, things would not have been like this. 🙏🏾

    Unfortunately for some of us watching this video, there will be more videos like of this, of someone who committed a vicious crime like this, and some of us might not be alive to watch it the next time. It keeps happening and happening AND happening, and nothing changes. The reality is sad and frustrating.
