As one of China’s most well known fashion designers in the world, Guo Pei’s featured collection is one of a kind. Pei has surpassed the creativity that has been walking down the American runways for the past few years. Her collection this year is a collaboration of mixed art and fairytale magic, where the talented designer has taken Chinese culture and couture, putting together a masterpiece. On stage, models walked slowly, dressed in dream-like gowns that have their Chinese culture shining through. Her over-the-top creations consisted of luxurious colors such as red, gold, green and silver, silk, hand embroidery, traditional Chinese prints, thousands of pearls, high wedges and creative headpieces. One dress took about 7, 412 hours to make! Guo Pei is now China’s new haute couture.

Gilles Mendel takes a moment from the hubbub backstage to talk to FashionTV. “This Fall collection has been inspired by a Vogue editorial by Diane Vreeland in Barcelona,” he says. The line contains beautiful architecture and texture as well as a beautiful mosaic. There’s a mix of fabrics and a lot of surprise. “Furs are going to be amazing!” he exclaims. Australian model Nicole Trunfio is backstage in a tight ivory dress, beige heels and matching fur. “He uses such luxurious fabrics and its very elegant and timeless,” she says of the designer and the brand. Trunfio is a busy girl, traveling to Miami and Paris for modeling and working on a jewelry line that is out in March 2012.

Step onto the windswept sands of Paris Haute Couture Week – watch the Tony Ward collection film on FashionTV!
Staged within the historic Refectoire des Cordeliers during Paris Haute Couture Week on July 6, 2026, Lebanese designer Tony Ward unveiled a masterwork of textile evolution with his Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection, “Whispers of the Dunes”.
Fondly nicknamed “the Architect of Detail,” Ward approached the desert not as a barren, static backdrop, but as a living, breathing force. The runway room was completely transformed into an immersive desert topography, with undulating seating arrangements mirroring the curves of sand dunes, setting a serene, unhurried pace for a collection deeply rooted in the themes of resilience and fluid transformation.
The show’s progression beautifully mirrored the changing light of a desert day. Opening with soft sand, ivory, and beige tones, the palette gradually bled into warm amber, burnt earth, nomadic reds, and anthracite blacks before dissolving back into soft sunrise golds.
The initial silhouettes utilized soft draping, layered veils, and wrapped constructions that spoke directly to the protective traditions of nomadic travelers.
As the collection intensified, Ward introduced striking avant-garde textures, including an exclusive hand-braided silk technique developed entirely in the house’s Beirut ateliers alongside intricate crochet work embedded with hidden Swarovski crystals – a feat requiring five master artisans over 1,000 hours of precision craftsmanship to complete.

These costumes are indeed beautiful but I think the main objective for a clothing designer is to design clothing for people to wear… Not just look at! I don't see these clothes being worn any place except a fashion show.

Wow… This was a Guo Pei Extravaganza. It's a petty that you never get to see all the little details of the brodery on her gowns in this videos. Love so much her capacity of creativity. But I wonder like, for exemple, if you fall on the floor, would the dress still look the same? They always seem so so sooo delicat, so fragil. Lol if I get ro wear on of those dreses I'll be like, do not touche me, stay away from me.. Don't even talk. I'd loooove ro visit her ateliers.

Like something out of a fairytale. Enjoyed very much. Gorgeous. Now, what I really like about this one, is the models aren't speeding by at 90 miles per hour as they are at every other fashion show. Here it allows us to really take in the beauty and enjoy the 'art'. The rest of the fashion world could take a lesson from that.

Very original and extravagant clothes, some breathtakingly beautiful. However, putting the models in those "chopine" shoes really turned me off……shades of "bound feet" and other forms of female subjugation.
