I truly believe that who we choose as our partners sometimes has a little to do with how we feel about ourselves – basically our self worth. That last patient with the huge birthmark on her neck was beautiful. Very pretty. And then we see her boyfriend who, overall, looks like a literal man-baby with a mustache of a fifth grader. Very round, soft, feeble and under developed. I feel that her birthmark bothered her that much that her self esteem was obliterated over time. she felt she couldn't find a man who could treat her right AND is actually in her league. OR the patients were just actors the show needed to film.

Interesting surgery and yea for you Doc. I personally have some issues with collapse inside. For me, the most economical way to temporarily fix this is to wear silicone graduated tubes in my nostrils at night. This usually keeps my breathing better throughout the day. BTW…. I had a somewhat botched nose job in the late 60s. The doc did a redo 6 months later, and 6 month after that I went to another doc who put a silicone piece down the middle. I rejected that… 10 years later my nose was more or less drifting across my face. My surgeon husband asked a med school classmate if he would help me out. He rejected that as too risky. Husband approached another friend and med school classmate, who was, at the time saw a lot of cancer patients for reconstructions. He reluctantly agreed and admitted it was risky for several reasons including the skin having been lifted and potential blood supply issues. Surgery was successful. He was able to gather my tissue to rebuild. After sugerí for several years I did go in and get injections for a sunken place. This was late 70s. I don't know what he used for injection.
After all these years I feel safest using the silicone tubes nightly.
A friend from high school, who I have not seen in over 50 years and is a plastic surgeon, and who does not know my history, comment, just this week that I have a great nose. We follow each other on facebook so he does get to see pictures of me often.

I always wanted a nose job. Still do, but I had a conversation with a group of coworkers and one of them told me do not do it. She showed me that her nose was botched. I never noticed the asymmetry. I told her when I first met her I noticed for an ethnic person like myself she had a very pretty European nose. She turned her head up and showed me her nose is collapsing and she is a mouth breather. She shared with me that her original shape was like mine and she regrets it because she felt like the aesthetic does not match her ethnicity along with being botched. She told me to love my nose because it is who I am. So instead of a smaller nose I contour it with make up and keep it broad but square out the shape. I learned to love what I have, and also how to enhance the shape instead of chopping and screwing it up. Don't need to fix it, but I can embellish it!
