    Democrats have been greatly over performing the polls. They did so in the midterms and again last week. I have zero doubt Biden will win reelection – especially if it’s him vs Trump – who is hated by literally everyone except for Republicans.

    Three thoughts:

    1. Journalism, or reporting, refers to the act of documenting what happened and relaying the facts of what happened to the public. Not predicting what will happen—that is properly called fortune telling. Fortune tellers are unreliable in all instances, and interestingly to me, people who believe in psychic predictions will admit that psychics are not always correct and accept that. Yet, journalists engage in fortune telling in two areas alone: predicting weather and predicting election outcomes. We all know that even with sophisticated techology such as doppler radar and analyzing weather patterns over time, weather predictions often are wrong. Yet, even wrong weather predictions change audiences' behavior—for example, carrying umbrellas when rain is predicted on a dry day and wearing a jacket when cold is predicted on a warm day. Likewise, predicting election outcomes, whether they prove to be correct or not, changes voters' behavior. That means that predicting election outcomes interferes with election results.

    2. Although the media insist that "polls are a science," polls are inevtiably biased, and polls often are wrong, just as weather predictions and psychic predictions are wrong. No one would insist that the weather and psychic predictions are always reliable, yet many people insist that political polls are always correct, and they make all kinds of convoluted excuses to explain why they were not correct when they were incorrect. The easiest case to point to is the 2016 election outcome. I semi-regularly go back to articles from 2015 and 2016 published by ALL mainstream news organizations that claimed it is "mathematically impossible for Trump to win." Some predicted a "liberal renaissance." These articles were based on political polls. After the election of Donald Trump, The New York Times Daily podcast did a postmortem interview with the head of political polling at the Times, and he admitted that all polls were wrong and that although polling is based on statistical models he believed to be reliable, he said it is possible that polling is not a science and that it may be most responsible for journalism outlets to cease predicting elections. And that was the last I have ever heard from any journalism outlet that political polling is unreliable and potentially dangerous insofar as predictions of election outcomes serve as motivations for voters that influence voting outcomes. It is also worth noting, which I have never heard anyone in the public eye acknowledge, that Kellyanne Conway—who is broadly accepted to be a propagandist who intentionally introduces disinformation into public discourse—is a career pollster who runs a polling company. Her Twitter handle always has been @KellyannePolls, and yet no one has questioned her association with the so-called science of political polling.

    3. The poll discussed in this video was a poll of approximately 3,000 individuals from across six states, who answered a set of questions, and their answers are understood to reflect all voters of all six states. All voters of all six states believe exactly what 3,000 people who answered unsolicited phone calls believe. Even though the Times's polls in 2016 were entirely wrong and even though the person who led NYT political polling admitted that it failed then and has potential to fail during any election, the results of this poll are discussed by journalists and professional partisan opiners in all news media as if these poll results are election outcomes themselves.

    Some of our paradigms really defy logic, and sometimes I feel like the world is designed to make me question my sanity. The acceptance of political fortune telling as legitimate journalism is chief among these instances.

    Don't buy into the weak polling, after all there's still a full year to go before the elections. Hold on, so many things can happen. Don't let go. We're all with you on this.

    Let me remind you that republicans want to defund law enforcement, AND that issue about policing you mentioned is a good issue to follow up on, don't throw it all up just because you feel this hasn't been given any importance by the Biden Admin, I mean if this issue didn't come through as to your expectation, what, wouldn't that be 5 hits out of 6 ? We are so far ahead when compared to the the last 4 even 5 presidents combined when it comes to batting average, don't quit just because of this one, what we need to do is to follow up and demand changes, prioritization, let's do this and it will be heeded and acted on, because this president listens. I'm actually happy with 5 out of 6 but if we can have ally then it'll perfect.

    I wonder if the news has anything to do with Biden’s low numbers?? Not once have I heard anything about the good things Biden has done, just negative negative negative around him!! Plus democrats have to stop being so modest!! They need to scream their accomplishments like Republicans do!!
    I also hate how people blame Biden for what hasn’t been done! The Republicans block anything good Democrats try to get done for Americans!! The president can only do so much with executive orders! If the House and Senate don’t approve a bill there’s not much Biden can do! Republicans this cycle have been absolutely useless! Unless Biden got everything done when Democrats were in power that’s the only way things would be done, and lots was done then!
    If you want more good bills passed that benefit you vote for people who don’t take big donor money ever (they will always work for their donors first not everyday people!) vote Democratic and make sure Republicans are never in power!!
    If they don’t do what you want after elected, vote them out & vote for someone else!
    America could be an amazing country that could offer the same things as Europe, Canada etc….. There’s no reason why Americans couldn’t have universal healthcare, great social programs, higher wages, better education system etc etc etc…..
    If America actually taxed the wealthiest fairly, 1st America’s economy wouldn’t collapse! If other countries can do it with less people & less rich people then America definitely could!!

    The Democrats/Biden MUST WIN the 2024 Election- this is the primary goal . I don't care if you don't believe the current polls or if Trump is found guilty on all 4 indictments- the alternative is that Trump- this simply cannot happen. Even sitting in a jail, he will pardon himself and his cronies, wreak havoc on his enemies and destroy our democracy. We are all distracted by the ongoing indictments; we need to focus on the bigger goal! I don't assume the 14th amendment will prevent Trump from being on the ballot- all states need to be uniform, not just some states and the Trump majority appointed Supreme Court will leave him on the ballot. There are 70 million stupid and gullible MAGA people that will vote for him again.
