Why Elon Musk, Facebook and MIT Are Betting On Mind-Reading Technology

Published

on

Elon Musk, Facebook, MIT, and a 16-year-old inventor are in the race to read minds with computers. Currently, researchers can detect brainwaves and track electromagnetic pulses within the neurons in our brains. Will this technology completely change humanity and what it means to be human?

Big players like Elon Musk and Facebook have teased their entrance into a market that’s expected to reach $1.72B by 2022. New research is pouring out of universities like Massachusetts Institute of Technology and The University of California in San Francisco.

Mind reading technology may not be possible, how do I know you aren't secretly instructing them to make choices using your voice somewhere and then it appears even to them that they really are able to use the technology which is probably the real reason.

The speech synthesizer devices that uses brain activity can be modified for medical purposes to use on coma patients to help them communicate with doctors and family. This idea was something I thought about immediately after seeing this video on 22/07/2023. I life in South Africa Gauteng and my name is Bianke Du Plessis and I heard many medical stories about doctors saying people can hear and understand you while the patient is in comatose state.

Since 2018… I still believe there must be an absolutely safe way to get all the equivalent "benefits" of Neuralink without taking any risks, especially no surgery… although will most likely take over a year to fully connect adaptively while not even needing any batteries. The key is to use the non-invasive approach from such specialized headphones to help us have the correct level of focus by looking at the screen (or even just hearing audio signal) results that should gradually detect the "semi-external" microchip. Point is… the vast majority of brains seem able to learn how to adjust from proper training similar to perfectly connecting with prosthetic limbs whereas none of those people have reported any dangerous* side-effects.

It's a nice idea, but you can't control motor activity with a graphene chip placed in the ear. You need to place it directly on the motor cortex, otherwise you'll have no idea what activity you are picking up. As for what he meant by read 'human thought' – he's gonna need to be a bit more precise than that. Literally no one knows how a 'thought' is generated. All we know is general correlations of brain areas associated with certain activities.

There is already mind reading technology/application that can connect to the mind of other person without any physical connection and know his thoughts and also the person using the application can speak loudly where only the connected person will hear it. I believe It's a secret technolgy .

I am living in Utah, US. People can remotely access my mind and thinking. They are doing so without my consent. Is this the neural surveillance? I don't know how they gained access and if there are things that was implanted into my body without my knowledge.

I have been stalked for a few years now. The stalkers use loud high-pitched sounds and electric waves to attack. There are some kinds of high frequency buzzing sound associated with the electric wave. My head and body can feel the constant vibration day and night. Sometimes it is really intense. I was woken up by the high-pitched sound and the electric waves most of the night now. It has injured and disabled me. Not sure if this is the weapon that they use to access people's mind and thinking.

The attack happened anywhere I went. At my home, other person's apartment, shopping mall, in a park or in a car. Where did those high pitch sound and electric waves originate from? Satellite? Cellphone Tower?

I have been watched and monitored day and night. The stalkers make loud snapping sounds to my home walls and ceilings to let me know when they are reading my mind. Not sure how those snapping sound get to my home. I don't know who gave them the rights to do this without my consent. How can I protect my own thoughts and ideas?

Not sure what to do or if anyone will believe me. But this is really happening.

How Car Makers Are Switching To EVs | CNBC Marathon

Published

CNBC Marathon explores how Tesla, Rivian and Dodge’s new electric vehicles are transforming the automotive industry.

Over the past decade, Dodge has dug deep into its performance car heritage and become a brand known for brash American muscle cars with supercharged V-8 engines and ridiculous amounts of horsepower. But tightening regulations, rising fuel prices and the rise of the SUV are putting the squeeze on Dodge’s so-called “brotherhood of muscle.” It recently debuted the Charger Daytona SRT EV, an electric car that looks a lot like its popular supercharged Challenger and Charger. Will Dodge fans or EV buyers want it?

Five years after Elon Musk first announced the Tesla Semi, it’s finally hitting roads. CNBC visited Pepsi’s Frito-Lay facility in Modesto, California, where it is using the new electric trucks, to see whether the Semis live up to the hype.

A new electric vehicle company hopes to take on Tesla with its outdoor adventure trucks and SUVs. And its deal with Amazon to build 100,000 electric delivery vans could help it succeed. Founded in 2009, Rivian is focusing on upscale electric trucks and SUVs with an emphasis on outdoor adventure. CNBC’s John Rosevear calls them the “Patagonia of electric vehicles.” Last month, Rivian and Amazon rolled out the first of the electric vans. They are starting to deliver packages in a handful of cities, including Seattle, Baltimore, Chicago and Phoenix.

After manufacturing’s 40-year cycle of decline in the U.S., officials in Washington are trying to bring it back. This move could be a boom or bust for huge swaths of the American Midwest. This region once dominated the auto industry before rising global trade and automation sent domestic manufacturing employment into a tailspin. U.S. leaders hope that new laws such as the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 will help businesses create the green manufacturing jobs of the future.

Why Fuel Economy Rollbacks Will Spur More Trucks, More V-8 Engines

Published

on

By

Lowered compliance costs, greater control over products, more big engines, more pickup trucks. These are just some of the changes investors expect from the rollback of fuel economy rules and the elimination of fines. Data indicate pent up demand for pickup trucks, and many automakers are bringing back V-8 engines. At the same time, hybrid vehicles are surging, and electric vehicles have longer term structural demand in their favor.

CNBC’s Michael Wayland takes a first look at electric vehicle startup Slate Auto’s modular $25,000 pick up trucks. The cars are affordable and basic, with features that buyers can customize. That includes turning the truck into an SUV. The vehicles had more than 150,000 refundable reservations before their release, despite waning consumer demand in EVs in the U.S. The company is about to find out if the truck can disrupt the market.

The Race To Power AI Is Reshaping America’s Electric Grid

Published

on

By

AI data centers are driving unprecedented demand for electricity and putting renewed pressure on America’s power grid to modernize its equipment and develop greener, more efficient sources of power. Google, Meta, Microsoft and Amazon are all spending millions of dollars on local infrastructure upgrades and companies like SpaceXAI are even building off-grid power plants to power their data centers.

Google says its planned 780-megawatt data center in Pine Island, Minnesota, could offer a model for powering the AI boom. In a proposed agreement with Xcel Energy, Google says it will support 1,900 megawatts of new wind, solar and battery capacity, while minimum payments and exit fees are intended to protect local ratepayers if demand falls short.

CNBC examines whether projects like Pine Island can make the grid cleaner without shifting costs to existing customers, why some energy experts argue that smaller data centers could make better use of infrastructure already in place, and how utilities’ financial incentives can complicate efforts to build less.
