Ken Paxton’s list of scandals keeps growing – from his wife’s tweet last summer (”Today, after 38 years of marriage, I filed for divorce on biblical grounds”) to “Wall Street Journal” reporting last week that he rang in the New Year in Dubai a couple years ago with two fugitives from justice. But if you listen to Republicans, his opponent James Talarico is the real monster. “The Atlantic” writer Adam Serwer joins Chris to break down how the right has tried to turn Paxton’s negative qualities into positives by painting real men as jerks and men like Talarico are, well, not men. Serwer argues this Republican strategy has been heavily influenced by the toxic manosphere that’s been brewing in this country. “If we can make men feel insecure about themselves they will adopt right-wing views in order to feel better about themselves,” he says. “And then they will vote Republican.”

I could see that James Comey did not realize what he was saying about Loretta Lynch until after he said it. Rachael Maddow is an excellent interviewer. James Comey said that he felt duty-bound to expose the Hillary Clinton email issue, even though he had no hard evidence because he was doubtful that Loretta Lynch would announce it. He did not, however, feel duty-bound to a inform the public about the Trump pee tape. I think that Comey may have just admitted his bias in the situation. Trump should not have fired him, but he does deserve to be fired. Comey thinks that he is a Boy Scout, but he is actually racist.

Millions of voters did vote illegally because they were shifted electronically in the electoral college tabulations which is different than the popular vote.
