It is interesting how a man as old as Bernie who has lived in the United States for 82 years is so out of touch with American values. You're not going to win any elections attacking fundamental American values. Maybe a small, blue state like Vermont let's it slide, but how do you expect to unite the entire country to your cause by saying things like Capitalism is inherently bad and the economy is rigged? He doesn't understand rural, American values which is why he lost both elections. He needs to get his head out of New York and Vermont and realize that a large percentage of Americans love their country and freedom and attacking American values as old as the country is horribely naive for someone who has been in politics and had to work with Conservatives as long as he has.

He lost two elections and he still thinks he has any relevancy.

I love when Bernie holds the corporate media heads accountable in them constantly beating him down left and right. He is the only honest politician in America right now and has been for years. He isn’t afraid of the rich, the oligarchs, the lobbyists or the cronies at the top screwing over the masses. Go get em Bernie!

Bernie’s message has never changed. The rot and hypocrisy of the American right has been festering for decades. The last good republican president was Ike Eisenhower . We need a 16 year run of democrats to clean up America.

Desantis will leak trump's FL secrets to win election but will pardon him. Desantis aided and shielded Trump and his Russian FL oligarchy. He knows where the bodies are buried. Desantis needs investigations and jail. Taking millions from insurance companies lining his pockets, ties to Trump's Mara lago ' events' aiding abetting and protecting russian oligarchs In FL who also have been funneling arms and military parts to Russia from FL through turkey! Desantis is absolutely a criminal.

An educated public and Democracy threatens the desperate GOP arms and fossil fuels control. Indocrinating, dividing to conquer physically, Destroying democracy and voting to become a capitalistic dictatorship is their real agenda. Real journalism, rights, democracy, real faiths of respect etc gets in their way!

I am, once again, blown away by the difference between the communication of Bernie Sanders and that of most other politicians. His values are front and center, very clearly, informed by a normal and healthy valuation of kindness, families, children, the elderly, health, workers, education and the economic well-being of all people. These are the values of good and healthy people. Anyone who is a decent person who has raised children, worked, aspired to a good and full life, shares those values.

That he is not THE most popular politician, or at least one of the few, among all classes of people (except the billionaires, who in most cases, have had to make decisions for years, and built up lives and personalities which are antagonistic toward most of these values, because of their obsessive focus on accumulating more and more wealth and power (or, in the case of those who have inherited their wealth, such as the Waltons, who got their wealth simply by birth, the obsessive focus on defending against the loss of their accumulated wealth), is a very clear indication that our news media, the main source of knowledge behind our public discourse, is very unwell.

Unwell tho the extent that most of us have been trained out of believing our own good sense, and acting accordingly, and therefore people like Ted Cruz and Trump have been popular enough to be elected and have made important decisions that have profound differences in our lives. And many of us don't even see it. We are duped by inaccurate information and (you might even call it) propaganda that promote the values which are not only not good for, but against, what is good for us as individuals, families, and a wealthy, relatively educated country in the 21st century.

And very perceptively moving toward oligarchy and even fascism. Quite a political dilemma. Good luck to us, lol.

Jen Psaki – Has Bernie Sanders on to talk about his book and the important topics within.

[Proceeds to ask zero questions about the book]

Don't hear you talking about trade with China do we Psaki? One sided trash can of a network. Pathetic.

Its okay though, Psaki wants to make sure she is not taxed now that she is entering the top .05 % on MSNBC.

  25. @guenterfink-ffu

He schould be nominated badly by the democrats because Biden is reluctant to engage in a better social society!

  26. @gregorywarnshuis323

    December 18, 2023 at 4:14 pm

So Jen, talk about avoiding the subject. The title of Bernie's book has "capitalism" in it, yet every time he launches into a critique of the specific abuses of capitalism, you immediately change the subject. Is this a subject that your corporate sponsors are uncomfortable with?

  27. @sallysimpson872

    December 18, 2023 at 4:14 pm

I love Bernie! I think Marianne Williamson might be a fair replacement candidate in 2024. Shes definitely not Bernie but shes more progressive than Biden. Ill vote for her in the primaries since hes not running.

Whats wrong with her!! Oh neo lib. My bad.

  29. @YanBrassard

    December 18, 2023 at 4:14 pm

It's actually insane to believe that millions of Americans didn't vote when Bernie Sanders was running to be the Democratic nominee for the presidency. The problem with the education system and the oligarchic nature of the political system is that if feeds cynicism (and the corporate media too). And that cynicism is a recipe for disaster because when the population is not voting anymore and believes that all politicians are the same, then the politicians who actually want to change the system like Bernie Sanders or a couple of progressive Democrats do not get the electoral support that they would need to actually make a structural and historical difference.

  30. @johnchessant3012

    December 18, 2023 at 4:14 pm

Great interview! Another thing Bernie could mention is that the issue of wealth inequality intersects with every other issue. These draconian 6 week abortion bans in red states for instance, won't affect everyone equally. In the absence of a federal protection of abortion rights (which could've been passed last year had Manchin agreed to changing the filibuster rules), the sad statistics of how little the average person has in their emergency fund and how many people are uninsured become crucial, determining whether someone in that awful situation can afford to go out-of-state for the procedure or to buy the abortion medication if it remains available.
