Former Trump Senior Economic adviser Stephen Moore is on Bloomberg This Weekend and says inflation remains too high for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates, breaking with President Donald Trump’s repeated calls for lower borrowing costs and arguing the central bank should hold rates steady for now. Moore also warned hosts Christina Ruffini and Bailey Lipschultz that elevated oil prices and the escalating US Canada trade fight pose risks to the economy and Republicans heading into the midterm elections.

What to Know About Trump’s Sweeping New Tariffs
The US extended a 10% tariff baseline hitting most major trading partners, prompting pushback from countries around the world. #trump #politics #news #usa
The US Trade Representative’s office laid out how it will collect duties of 10% to 12.5% on imports from almost 60 countries and the European Union, effective Friday.
The rationale was that the targeted economies failed to prevent forced labor in their supply chains, according to the US Trade Representative’s office.

Just another corrupt Chinese's company that went under. One of my rules in trading, never buy a Chinese Stock, as they are always corrupt companies. The funny thing is, as I was writing this, I got a scam Chinese phone call. The world was such a better place when China was closed off the the rest of the world.

Many wealthy families collect multiple properties via inheritance, as second (vacation) homes or as long-term rentals. This hoarding is (as I explained) the only possible result of policies that asymmetrically distribute credit, and thus income and capital gains, to the already-wealthy rather than to the not-yet-wealthy. This policy-driven hoarding / concentration of housing in the top 10% is one factor driving rents higher due to artificial scarcity–a scarcity created by central bank and government policies, not the "market."

Here are shocking numbers about China's 🇨🇳 real estate sector:
– Evergrande's $340 billion debt is more than the GDP of Vietnam.
– Empty apartments, mostly unfinished, are sufficient to house the population of Germany.
– The company's eye-watering $81 billion loss over 2 years is bigger than the GDP of about 40 countries in the world.
