   What Russia is doing is nothing short of diplomatic 'kidnapping' for lack of a better term to describe the recent arrest of American journalist Evan Gershkovich. He has now become someone with a pending symbolic ransom hanging over his head. The ransom in the case of the US journalist will be a 'trade' for a Russian being held in the USA or something equivalent.

    It is altogether possible that this journalist was engaged in espionage. Foreign correspondents often work for intelligence agencies and are useful at gathering intelligence. Shouldn't we wait to see the allegations and evidence before drawing conclusions? Or is this simply propaganda?
