Zelenskyy, Xi hold 1st call since Russia-Ukraine war began
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping in what was the two leaders’ first official contact since January 2022.

Emergency responders took Sen. Mitch McConnell to an ambulance on a stretcher after being called to his home last month for a report of an unconscious person, according to new video of the incident and an eyewitness account.
A neighbor of McConnell told CNN that they opened their door to find commotion outside their home at around 8:30 a.m. on June 14, with two ambulances, a fire truck and Capitol Police officers blocking the entire street.
The neighbor said they learned from another eyewitness who saw the individual’s face that the person on the stretcher was McConnell and he was not wearing an oxygen mask.

Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky on Sunday announced, after weeks of speculation, that he had a fall last month that landed him in the hospital.
McConnell also provided a photo showing him smiling next to his wife, Elaine Chao. He appears to have a copy of Sunday’s Washington Post sports section on his lap.

In a bid to return autonomy, during reconstruction, a great portion of the contracts could be Chinese. China is signaling that despite its support of Russia, it also plays no favorites when it comes to basic trade relations. It remains largely uninvolved in arming Russia, and in meeting with Zelensky, offers a platform of future potential cooperation.

China is pursuing its own goals. They are positioning themselves as a mediator for negotiations, but they are turning a blind eye to all the atrocities that Russia is committing in Ukraine. They have never once condemned the actions of a terrorist state

It is good that China is taking steps to compare the two countries, but the neutrality of China prevents it from becoming a peacekeeper, because the actions of Russia violate absolutely all international norms, but until China admits it, it is unlikely that it can become a peacekeeper
