A government shutdown looms

Published

on

Congress has until September 30th to pass 12 spending bills that will keep the government running. But hard-right House republicans say they aren’t signing off on the bills or voting to extend the deadline for funding until their demands are met. California congressman Robert Garcia joined American Voices host Alicia Menendez to discuss what’s happening on Capitol Hill.

Washington DCs pay and benefits should be the first thing to get axed. Permanently.
A government shutdown looming every few months, though, is a sign of a corrupt and insolvent government using the shutdown tactic as a cash grab and nothing more.
Our government isn't worthy enough to be charging us taxes at all.
Taxation without representation is theft, and no one in Washington actually represents the people anymore.
It's all self and special interest.

Good I hope so, get Biden to come to the table and start getting the spending number down. And stop giving our tax dollars away to other countries. Use it for the American people who need it like Maui and where the train wreck was at in Ohio.
