You know, we non lawyers are often pretty sharp too; this habit of vague obsequiousness, not only by Jen Psaki, but also by several other newscasters, gets a little tiresome. Ya, they’re lawyers. Big deal.

Look, Charles Manson told his followers to go out and commit horrible, violent crimes, and they DID. All of them, including Charles Manson, RIGHTFULLY served decades upon decades in prison. Trump and others did the EXACT SAME THING, yet Trump and coconspirators are still free! NO ONE is above the law! .. NOT EVEN FORMER PRESIDENTS. Furthermore, since this is a FIRST TIME that a former President has EVER committed THESE TYPES OF CRIMES, how these cases are handled SETS THE PRECEDENT on possible future crimes committed by others as potentially corrupt, that may come into office and attempt the same.

    Katyal is a brilliant analyst.

However, he has argued before the Supreme Court that US corporations should be immune from lawsuits brought by victims of trafficking and slavery against those corporations’ overseas suppliers.

    Why does MSNBC condone this?

    December 23, 2023 at 3:44 pm

I knew there were more court dates and possible indictments for Trump than what I could find being covered. So get out your 2023-2024 calendar:
.10/2/23. NY Civil Fraud case $250M
    .1/15/24 E Jean Carroll Defamation
    .1/29/29 Multi-Mill Pyramid Scheme
    .3/25/24 NY Hush Money Case
    .3/20/24 Fed Classified Docs Case
. Pending GA and Fed cases for plans related to overthrow gov't including insurrection on 1/6 and conspiracy related to voter fraud in GA
. Possible other states where calls were made similar to GA although I believe most if not all of them were attorneys saying they were calling in Trump's name; Trump wasn't on the calls
Apparently rushing to be a presidential candidate does not protect you from facing what you did leading up to the candidacy and of course even if elected in face of all this, Trump isn't able to pardon himself at the state level

Jen: Always excellent preparation and the best guests. Neal Katyal is brilliant, calm and clear — current and well read on the latest legal developments. Interesting to hear his take on complex legal issues. Hopefully, we will soon find out the witness tampering details. Could be Mark Meadows? Trump did donate a huge amount to Meadows' nonprofit at a very specific time … when Meadows just happened to decide not to appear in person to give testimony under oath regarding the January 6th Committee issued subpoena. We will see.

Trump is NOW threatening the investigators and prosecutors. How is that NOT obstruction of justice? Plus most of the FAKE Republican Party is joining in and also crossing the line to obstruction of justice.

Time for rebranding, eh? GOP should be come the OJP for Obstruction of Justice Party! I'm sure it will work just as well as the $40-billion bird brand that Musk just flushed down the toilet.

I gotta ask though – Neal won a SC case 6-3 about the right to vote. Why did 3 Justices dissent?

  29. @DemoCatDude

    December 23, 2023 at 3:44 pm

Big Money Players in this country have become too influential and probably a "fourth branch of government – Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)". The widespread political corruption, hypocrisy, immorality and unethical behavior that we see is now the platform of the Extreme Court, GOP, Federalist Society and other Right Wing Organizations. They are an Evil Menace, and a Disgrace to our Country. It is plainly obvious what we need to do now, expel all the Republicans from office and Vote BLUE.

Solution: Keep him [trump] from running any government office [including being near the whitehouse!!!!!!!surely there some law with all these charges against him that can enforce it…
