Look, I interned in a head start, visited struggled students, there are one thing in common, their parents or care giver do not push them to academic success, the success students, how ever have their parents or care giver 100% or higher for academic success….

72% of black kids are born to single parents most of whom are high school drop outs. Abuse of the children is prominent in the parenting style of some Black single mothers, with serious developmental consequences for the children. “Words like 'You're stupid,' 'You're an idiot,' 'I'm sorry you were born,' or 'You'll never amount to anything' can stick a dagger in a child's heart." "Single mothers angry with men, whether their current boyfriends or their children's fathers, regularly transfer their rage to their sons. The NFL supporting racist BLM movement is an issue for the white men that go into the city and spend their time (and own money) mentoring fatherless black and white youths. Since Colin started this crap I can not help the kids because I'm white. Sad thing is I used to take youths to see these guys. Would any of the protesters commit to mentoring in a black neighborhood? Heck no! they don't have the time(other than photo ops) so just STOP IT! NFL & COLIN and everybody else that adds a color to being a man you all are only hurting the kids. I suspect it is as once said in a movie, "you can't handle the truth"!!!! The kids have to turn to gangs because of your hate? You're all morons. You are not helping the Youth of the Cities just making thugs. Be a mentor.

College Admissions should get rid of their racial quota system.

European American rights are being taken away by Affirmative Action.

MAN THANK GOD FOR AFFIRMATIVE ACTION! Without it, black people would never meet the standards to compete in the NBA, NFL, Boxing, etc. Black people needed set asides because they couldn't jump high enough, run fast enough or build muscle in the gym to be competitive in the area of sports.
Affirmative action – an admission that the beneficiary is inferior.
I wonder what would happen if black people applied their efforts to academics instead of sports?

I'm for racial (ethnic) affirmative action, but also for communism to eliminate social classes. I'm for some gay affirmative action, in cases of proven or likely discrimination, but also for communism to support transgender lifestyle freedom and all women's equality (since there is a less monetarily applied economy of women's being). Communism is about those other insights.

A few days ago I was told that I only got into an Ivy League school because I was simply hispanic. It was said by a competitive white friend that felt I had "stolen" her place in this school. We hadn't even graduated high school and already I was feeling the effect of white privilege when it came to college. Affirmative action isn't just about race. My white friend got a higher SAT score than I did (100 points higher in English and Reading), but then again, English was my second language. Her parents could afford to get tutors for the SAT while mine couldn't. Yet in her mind, having a better score meant that she was more qualified to be admitted. And she'll probably go on her entire life blaming affirmative action and me, the brown girl who only got into Brown because of her skin color. Ridiculous

The states that banned affirmative action should take down the SAT and ACT with it! Its all boils down to who ever created the SAT and ACT is bias to minorities and everyone knows this. That is my opinion and I am sticking to it.

Prof Cashin doen't think you should get an advantage if your parents went to the college you wanna get in…but says you should get an advantage if you're not white. How effed up is that?!

  14. @myked2072

    December 24, 2023 at 11:17 pm

What's racist about making everything equal? Answer…Nothing! If you can't pass the SAT's and earn your spot in a college classroom, you don't deserve it. End of story. And you shouldn't get special advantages because you aren't White.

Apparently this discussion on Affirmative only applies to Black & Latino students. Guess Asians, Pacific Islanders, & other minorities do not apply! Level playing field really? Unless you are a baller, chances are you will have to come from a well off family, or join the military if you study your butt off, but do not have the financial resources for a higher education. Other than going into student loan debt, what do some smart people do?

Not widely publicized are the working students that take longer to graduate and the single parents that go against all odds & succeed. Some people become exotic dancers to earn money to save up for their studies.

If someone has a gifts that can benefit society, that persons talents should be nurtured & rewarded! Regardless of ethnicity, religion, sexuality, gender, if their family lives in lower or middle. Education should be given to those willing to learn & not to just fill quotas for statistics.

Swan predicts Trump’s ‘free & fair elections’ speech announcement

Published

By

President Donald Trump plans to use part of a primetime speech Thursday to discuss new findings about the security of American elections, among other topics — setting up yet another high-profile opportunity for the president to dispute the results of the 2020 election he lost. Speaking in the Oval Office two days ahead of the planned address, Trump affirmed the speech would focus on elections and a “couple of other things.”

Officials said the speech is still being finalized, but Trump was expected to discuss several topics. He’s still deeply mired in his conflict with Iran, with nightly strikes in the country as he seeks a path to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Even as that war appears to be restarting, however, Trump framed the elections portion of his Thursday speech as the centerpiece.
