Trump’s anti-immigrant remarks casts shadow on Senate border negotiations
During a campaign rally in New Hampshire, Donald Trump said to a crowd that immigrants are “poisoning the blood of our country.” It wasn’t the first time the former president and Republican frontrunner used that charged language, and it comes as Senate leaders are working through the weekend to hammer out a deal on stricter border measures. MSNBC’s “American Voices” guest host Julián Castro is joined by MSNBC Political Analysts, Former Rep. Sen. Murphy says, “This amount of money could get us through what could be a very hard and deadly winter. This isn’t big enough to be able to get us to the point where the entire country is vaccinated. The Dump had complete control for two years. The dumpster GOP had the Senate, the house and the presidency, yet here we are today… How can they still claim blame on the other party for this? The border is not solved by a simplistic 2000mi wall, and the sacrifice of the national guard, without change to the asylum laws that just let people through.
