This dispatcher dropped the ball. She should have notified all units on route that it was a pellet gun so it could be handled in a different matter. She is suppose to notify the units of everything and any weapons, and let them know if they are fake. Everything!

The 911 dispatcher was at fault here. She was thoroughly absent from the point of the call and should've responded faster (or at all) when the nature of the call was known, and/or that cops were already on their way. She was out of place when attempting to deescalate the situation by implying that he might've pointed the gun at the officers, which although might've been true, should not have ever been mentioned especially in that moment. Poor execution through and through.

Well if the first was like the vid on this one good job officer protecting your life and other officers. They were physically trying to restrain him from entering his car. There is no way to know when he entered and reached in if he was grabbing a gun. Some people are to stupid to live. A pellet gun looks like a real gun from a distance. Even if the dispatcher tells the police officers that the gun was fake, they cannot be 100 percent certain that the gun is really fake. It is so sad, but the shooting here is self defense. BTW, the man the officer killed was white. So death of Tony Robinson could not be attributed to his race. Enough of the race card. Tony Robinson tried to strangle a man, was jumping on cars, and even his own friends stated that he assaulted one of them.

so his ex-wife is calling 911 and telling them it's a pellet gun. what if she's wrong??? what if was not a pellet gun? it's completely regardless if the dispatcher told the officers or not, they would've had to shoot him anyway. no choice for the officer here. gun is gun. DON'T POINT GUNS AT THE POLICE!!!!! there is no excuse for such dumb and stupid acting like this, and officers don't need to take this crap, and put their lifes on risk, because somebody thinks he can play a fucking game. ppl always try to find excuses and blame others for their own actions and behaviour. don't blame the police for this. and like some others mentioned before: he was obviously asking for it.
